Did You Know?
- The Farm Credit System is the second-largest U.S. government-sponsored enterprise (GSE), based on outstanding debt.
- The Farm Credit System lends to qualified borrowers of all sizes, from young, beginning and small farmers and ranchers to large agribusinesses. Eighty-five percent of customers borrow between $1,000 and $499,000.
- We actively issue highly rated securities (Aaa/AA+/AA+), and we have a Bank for International Settlements (BIS) risk-weighting of 20%.
- Interest earned on Farm Credit debt securities is generally exempt from state, local and municipal taxes.
